Our History

Biogerm Foundation

1994

hair dr. António Araújo and Mavildia Rufino, for the production of Lowenstein Jensen culture medium, for tuberculosis bacillus research.

Inauguration of Biogerm headquarters

1997

laboratory in Maia, expanding its activity in the area of public health through analysis of water, food and environment.

SGS Certification

2002

by the NP EN ISO 9001 standard, in the context of the preparation of culture media.

IPAC Accreditation L0349

2005

by the NP EN ISO 17025 standard, for water, food, environment, soil and sludge, chemical and sampling tests.

Acquisition of the chemical analysis laboratory in Santo Tirso.

2017

Explorer Investments acquires 60% of Biogerm

2024

and invests around €4M in a new
laboratory (planned for December 2026) that will triple the company's response capacity.
